This month we head to Bristol to showcase Bristol Together, a CIC who support ex-offenders through the refurbishment of houses.
Who are they?
Bristol Together CIC was launched in October 2011 as a social business. They buy empty properties that require substantial repair and refurbishment.
Not only does that enable them to create jobs for ex-offenders, but also ensures that when the property is resold they can make a profit to reinvest back into the social enterprise.

Where are they?
Bristol, England

What they do?
They have already helped over 60 people into work, and only one person has re-offended in that time. They expect that they will continue to see very low levels of re-offending amongst our employees

Why do we like them?
  • Great to see a property company that is a social enterprise
  • Great social impact
  • Teaches people practical transferable skills
  • Fantastic example of how to use social investment to make a difference

Good luck to you people and your volunteers. Hopefully, you are able to gather more people that are willing to help you guys. I admire people like you. You are thinking largely with the community in mind, instead of thinking of your own. I really hope that you can continue doing your charity and inspire a lot more people at the same time.
