On Monday 28th November we attended the Social Enteprise Awards 2016 at the incredible Grand Connaught Rooms in London. The awards were organised by Social Enterprise UK and hosted by two time Edinburgh Comedy Awards Finalist, Nish Kumar. The awards recognise the acheivements of British Social Enterprises and we were delighted to have come away from proceedings with a Highly Commended in the Social Impact category! We found ourselves in great company, surrounded by some seriously impressive social enterprises, including Street League (the deserving winners of the Social Impact Award) and our table mates Alive and Kicking (pictured below) who were eventual winners of the International Impact Award with their amazing @BallsForAfrica.
We were also serenaded by We are The Rainbows choir (pictured below) - a group of LGBTI refugees and asylum seekers. The choir is supported by Micro Rainbow, a fellow social enterprise tackling poverty amongst LGBTI communities worldwide. Thank you to SEUK for organising such a fantastic event and all the other amazing organisations who are working hard and making the world a better place - it is inspirational to be part of something so great.
