We are delighted to announce that we have shortlisted 6 finalists for the Forerunner Prize, which invited applications from social entrepreneurs looking to do exciting things with technology. We reveal our first finalist today. Liam McMorrow from Adelie Health, applied to Forerunner with a convenient and user-friendly device for people with type 1 diabetes designed to increase accuracy of insulin doses and make life with diabetes easier.
Gareth Hart, Director of Iridescent Ideas and “We had some amazing applications. It’s fabulous that future tech entrepreneurs are thinking about social enterprise as the way forward. The top six applications are really exciting ideas and we look forward to naming the winner soon.” The Forerunner Prize winner will receive £1,000 cash to help develop their idea, alongside mentoring and business support from Iridescent Ideas CIC. They will also receive specialist help from our partner organisations, Social Enterprise Mark CIC, Francis Clark, Tribe and University of St Mark & St John, which will include research, marketing and branding, financial advice and access to a wide range of networks. The total prize package is worth around £5,000.
